Solstice Southwest LLC Awarded Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation from The Joint Commission
IRVING, TX / ACCESSWIRE / November 17, 2023 / Solstice Southwest LLC has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services Accreditation by demonstrating compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization's commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
Solstice Southwest LLC underwent a rigorous, onsite review on October 24 and 25, 2023. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Behavioral Health Care and Human Services standards spanning several areas, including medication observation, health and safety, emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, and rights and responsibilities of the individual. The surveyor also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
The Joint Commission's standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance.
Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, The Joint Commission Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, shares: 'Through collaborating on innovative solutions and evidence-based resources and tools, The Joint Commission helps drive improvement while maintaining accountability through our leading survey methods and standards. We commend Solstice Southwest LLC for its commitment to advance safety, quality, equity and compassion for all patients.'
According to Solstice Southwest Psychiatrist Dr. Randall Turner, 'Solstice Southwest is the best alternative to an inpatient hospital. Every patient receives our proprietary Solstice Southwest patient Handbook covering 13 skills. We provide individuals space in a new environment to hasten the symptom relief they desire. The key to new habits is the schedule, continuity and patterns we manage in our clinic.'
Solstice Southwest prepared for accreditation by training staff on systems including informed consent, rounds, health equity, communication, assessment, groups, individual sessions, discharge and mental health urgent care. Through mock surveys and daily staff huddles, Solstice ensures a standard for customer service that their Texas customers appreciate. Solstice CEO, Britten Devereux, elaborated, 'Accreditation is not just about quality assurance. This process helps us maintain the fitness for our mission to change the landscape of psychiatry. We dare set the standard for customer service in mental health care so we need The Joint Commission's objectivity and analysis. For decades, Texas hospitals have looked for a strong resource for the suicidal, homicidal or self-medicating patient. We curated a continuum of care that is in the continuous performance improvement discipline all year round.'
Solstice Southwest stands tall with its Joint Commission accreditation, showcasing the highest standard of care for adolescents and adults.
Anh Schlingman MSW, Customer Experience Manager, explains Solstice's stature: 'When hospitality meets science, families change and heal. Solstice Southwest is leading the way for Texas psychiatry. We've combined time-tested services that will challenge family habits and raise wellness across generations. We bring families together, uniting around simple goals for everyone.'
